Subject: SCSI CDROM in Win2k doesn't show until......

Got a strange one here... Rebuilding a test Win2K server here which has
an
Adaptec 29160 SCSI card in it... The only thing attached to the 29160
is a
Toshiba CDROM drive... Upon boot, the Adaptec BIOS shows the 29160 and
recognizes the drive attached to it... After Win2k Svr (SP2) is booted,
the
CDROM drive doesn't show up... If I put a disc in, the PC doesn't see
it
(I've tried booting the machine with a CD in the drive, it still isn't
recognized)... There's no sign of the CDROM drive in Disk
Administrator.

If I go into Device Manager, the Adaptec 29160 is there.. If I choose
Scan
for Hardware Changes, the computer takes a moment, refreshes the Device
Manager display and then the CDROM appears and works normally until I
reboot
again...

Anyone see this behavior before and know how to fix it?

Thanks in advance!
