If you router also has a DNS and is setting it with DHCP you may need to
set
XP with a static Primary DNS pointing at your Win2kS and the Secondary
pointing at the router.

Subject: Slow XP Box

Hi all,

I upgraded my server to W2K (It is used as a Domain Controller. I
installed AD, DNS and IIS on it. My router is configured as a DHCP
server). Since then, it takes a good minute if not more to log on to the
network from my two XP boxes. My Me and NT 4 boxex are ok. Why is this?
It was not doing this before.

Thanks

sh
