In Windows 2000 DHCP server, when a DHCP's client name A got updated DNS with the A and PTR record with an IP address of 10.12.0.10. Now if I rename the client A to B, I have a new A and PTR in DNS with the same IP address, is the old record will be remove later by DNS or DHCP or do I have to manually remove it?. I know that when you run ipconfig /release after the rename, the record will discard from DNS, but let say I don't do that, will it automatically remove?
