Hi all,
forgive me if this is a double post, but I sent this
same question a while back and still aint seen it
appear in the list.

Basically, we have a number of remote offices, each
connected to head office via frame, each office
containing at least one BDC.

In one particualar office, we are having browse master
problems, to the point where the main file/print/BDC
just decides to stop taking network requests and needs
to be rebooted.

Looking at the event log, there are always events
leading up to the problem which center around the BDC
being told it is the master browser even though it is
not, thinking it is the master browser and being told
by the other BDC in the office that its not, etc.

This leads to browser elections and thats the last
relevant event before the server needs to be rebooted.

What I notice is that the election always seems to be
between the two BDC's so what I am wondering is wether
the problem could be relieved by stopping the computer
browser service on one of the BDC's in that office .

Short of that helping the situation, is there anything
else I might try? I have already checked the event log
ID's against the knowledge base but have yet to find
anything that makes me slap the side of my face in
shock asking myself "why didn't I think of that?".

These are all NT4 SP6a machines and the frequency of
this problem occuring is intermittent at best.

Any help is appreciated with this somewhat mysterious
problem.

Thanks

  -Luke
