I have a folder that I encrypted a long time ago when I was messing with
EFS in my lab at home. The account that I encrypted the folder with was
"USER X" in "DOMAIN A". I recently rebuilt the server and created a new
domain, "DOMAIN B". I tried to access the folder the other night and was
denied access. I know why I can not access the folder...my question is
how can I recover the folder and its contents? I still have a laptop that
is a member of the old "DOMAIN A" that "USER X" is logging into under the
cached account. I tried to back up the folder and restore the folder to
the laptop and decrypt the files. Didn't work. I tried to export the
Private Key from the "USER A" and install it under the "Domain B"
administrators account. That didn't work. Any thoughts or suggestions on
how to recover the folder? Are there any third party tools out there yet
that will recover the folder. I checked WinTernals and did not see
anything and a google search came up empty.

TIA,
Steve I
