If you have the latest drivers installed on the print server you will
probably see very few if any OS vs. Driver issues.
We have an NT4 print server serving up HP 4xxx N printers. They work with
XP, 2K, ME, 98, and 95. No probs. But you do have to specify to install 9x
drivers when setting up the share as well.

Subject: Sharing print drivers cross-platform

We are doing our print serving on a Windows 2000 Server machine.

We have students that WILL NOT be joined to the domain for reasons of
privacy and confidentiality, but have accounts that can be used to access
the printers @ share-level. We are an all HP laserjet shop in all the dorms
(LaserJet 4xxx N). If we share the (Intel environment) print drivers for
Windows 2000 and Windows 95/98, do any of you expect compatibility issues
with Windows ME or XP??

Have any of you had experience with this sort of thing??? I mean until
XP.Net comes out I'm really not sure how to approach this. Thoughts /
comments?
