Uh, thanks but this isn't what I was asking. I know how to do all of that
with RIS, I'm cutting CD's using Sysprep and the answer file along with
Ghost. From what I've seen, the older version of Sysprep behaves
differently, which makes sense. What I've done is left out the ComputerName=
part of the sysprep.inf. After the CD image copy's over and the machine
reboots, I'm now prompted for the Workstation name.

Cheers,
Tony

Look at MS Technet & look for group policy & RIS topics. It has clear
instruction on how to amend your group policy to configure your RIS - Custom
choice to ALLOW.

Subject: Anyone using Sysprep with XP?

Although I'm extremely familiar with RIS, I've been asked to cut CD images
too so now I'm learning Sysprep. I've got it all working fine except for one
thing, naming the computer. My collegues used Sysprep for NT 4 and they had
it so that when the machine rebooted after having the image pasted, it came
up and asked them for the name of the computer and then rebooted again. How
do I get that to go? When I use Setup Manager, it asks me if I want to
specify a name or randomly assign one but I don't want either. What are you
guys doing for this?

Cheers,
Tony
