Has any one tried this ? (I haven't but its an Idea) Set up 2 win2k server and use NLB between the 2, Set up both Servers with the same printers and printer names. Now set up a Netbios address for the NLB IP point users to \\NLBNETBIOSNAME\Printer You should even be able to point the new Printers virtual folder that's created http://NLBNETBIOSNAME.domainname.com\printers to the new NLB address

Or get really fast at disaster recovery [;-) Cheers, Tony -----Original Message----- From: Mike Staines [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Tuesday, April 09, 2002 2:16 PM To: NT 2000 Discussions Subject: Printer redundancy I'm looking for some opinions/ideas on printer redundancy. I have a single print server for my printers, on each floor (4 floors). The Print server is fine and I have no problems, but my CTO is worried if the print server ever fails. Is there any software out there that has been used successfully (short of clustering the servers with veritias or Microsoft) to make print servers redundant? Does any one have suggestions/practices in place that might give me some ideas on redundancy for printers. Please, Don't suggest setting up the printers directly from the workstation. Driver updates are a nightmare.
