When adding a Windows XP Professional system to the domain that's been originally setup without network support, upon rebooting and first domain login, Windows XP brings up a little box which states "Please wait while the domain list is created." This is an extremely lengthy task, and the system seems to take forever to do it. This step wasn't there in Windows 2000 after adding a computer to the domain, and didn't need to be. Is there any reason that Microsoft should add such an irritating feature to Windows XP? They might as well have made it say: "I'm making it look like I'm doing something cool, so you can wait here while I do it." In doing some searches on Google for this error message brings up two pages, one talking about Samba, and one talking about NT3.5 and 4.0, so obviously this actual message has been buried within Windows NT for many years, and now with XP just become more blatantly annoying.
