I assume you are using the Windows Backup program, right?

When you scheduled the task, did you choose a specific tape to be used,
or a new tape?

I had problems because I chose a new tape to be used, and therefore, I
had to initialize each tape manually after I inserted it on the drive,
even if it was a new tape.

Maybe this helps!

Subject: Simple Backup Poblem

Hi,
I am trying to backup a couple of directories nightly on a Win2000
serverto a DAT tape. Although there is no problem manually, whenever I
use
the scheduler, I get error of "The operation was not performed because
the specified media cannot be found."
I get the same error whether I change the DAT tape or leave in the same
one. The Job Summary includes the instruction to "Replace data on the
media", so the problem seems to be the media name which the system
allocates as "media created <date> at <time>".
Can anyone help please
Keith
