I'd suggest that you put them on separate volumes, that is necessary to
implement quotas that are useful. 


In the past I always mapped a files share on each file server that had
shared data, then used ACLs to allow or deny access.  That way if Jim moves
from Accounting to IT (Yeah Right!) all you have to do is make him a member
of the new groups, log out/back in, and presto, no changes to what is mapped
to what drive letter.



My approach may mean that you have more drives mapped on each client, but
it's the same for all users.  That's a good thing for most users, KISS.


I have a doc that I wrote that outlines the accompanying ACLs, Local and
Global groups, if you want it just send a note to me offline.
