We went with the Emulex simply because Dell told us long term that this was where they would be going is with Emulex and phasing out the Qlogic.
I guess EMC makes the Emulex and with their partnership they want to move to that card. A word of advice they only wanted to sell those cards with their Gold support at $600 a card so we ended up buying the cards elsewhere and keeping a spare on hand in case of failure. -----Original Message----- From: Cornett, Keith [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Thursday, May 02, 2002 9:24 AM To: NT 2000 Discussions Subject: Fibre HBA adapters Has anyone used Emulex or QLogic fibre HBA adapters in Windows 2000 Servers? We're looking at connecting 8 Dell PowerEdge 6400 servers to an EMC 8730 Symmetrix box via a Connectrix Enterprise Director. The card options recommended by EMC are the Emulex LP850-F1 (embedded multi-mode optic interface), LP850-N1 (multi-mode optic GBIC interface), or the QLogic QLA2200F-CK (multi-mode optic). Does anyone have experience with this, and if so what do you recommend? Any differences in performance, stability, problems with configuration?
