What is the name resolution path for a windows 2000 server configured with both a dns server and a wins server? I know for an h-node client running windows nt4.0 it was C-W-B-L-H-D.
I ask because I'm seeing occasional latency for a windows 2000 monitoring server referencing hostnames in urls, (e.g http://server_hostname/index.htm) and i think it may be due to the hostnames only being in wins and not dns (which is external in the environment in question). thanks for any advise.
