<GRIPE>
Hello people It's come to that time of year again where somebody must complain about the amount of "0ut 0f 0ffice" replies that we receive from this list every time we send a post. I find it ANNOYING every time I post a message to this list, that I receive one, two or three responses all saying that someone is 0ut of the 0ffice and I should forward all my enquiries to Beatrice, or some such person. Well that's fantastic and very helpful to me -- I mean I only posted to a damn mailing list, and of course I want to know when someone didn't receive my post because they were on holidays in the Bahamas. To all the people who use Out of Office replies while being subscribed to this list: PLEASE, EITHER: A) UNSUBSCRIBE FROM THIS LIST WHEN YOU SET AN 0UT 0F 0FFICE REPLY B) SET YOUR '0UT 0F 0FFICE' REPLY TO NOT RESPOND TO MAILING LISTS (ie set up a filter). If option (B) is not possible, consider OPTION A. It's not hard -- most of you are SysAdmins and are smart enough to realize that this is an issue. Or are half of you obvlivious to what's going on?? Perhaps these people need to be automatically unsubscribed? Are any regular posters to this list also list administrators? Can you imagine the amount of JUNK email the frequent posters must receive? Wake up!! </GRIPE> PS Notice I had to use zeros instead of O's in many words because the list itself is protected from "Out of Office" reply spam, but the users aren't. -- Adam Smith IT Officer SAGE Automation Ltd [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.sageautomation.com "Computers are like air-conditioners; they don't work when you open Windows." ------ You are subscribed as [email protected] Archives: http://www.swynk.com/sitesearch/search.asp To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
