Thanks for that link. I went to a 2000 box and got the latest cacls.exe to
use and it's not giving the error anymore.

Cheers,
Tony

This is similar to a problem cacls.exe had prior to SP2. See Q268546 for
details. I don't think MS ever updated the xcacls.exe tool though.

Subject: XCACLS on 2000 Box

Hi all,

Anyone used XCACLS.exe from the 2000 Resource Kit? When I run it, it's
successful but when I check the security tab on the folder properties I get
the following error:

"The permissions on <folder name> are incorrectly ordered, which may cause
some of the entries to be ineffective. Press OK to continue and sort the
permissions correctly, or Cancel to reset the permissions."

I press OK and everything appears to be fine but everytime I check the
Security tab, I get this error. On NT 4 Servers, I don't get this error,
only on Win2K Servers. Any ideas? Is there another tool I can use? Basically
I'm looking for where ever the Domain Users group has been added and giving
another group the same rights.

Cheers,
Tony
