I have a test lab that consists of a single domain structure: W2K Server running AD, DHCP, DNS...and a seperate child domain. DNS of this child domain is able to connect to the DNS running on the DC that's running the DNS service. What I'd like to do is set up or delegate a new AD-Integrated or Standard Primary zone for this child domain to allow for redundancy across the LAN. I guess I'm saying that I want to delegate this child domain into its own seperate zone. My question is do i do this thru the creation of a new record or simply by setting up DNS on the child domain? Anytime I attempt to set up DNS on the child domain it attempts to connect to DNS running on the domain controller and tells me that the service isn't running on the child domain. Any help would be appreciated.
