I don't think it's necessary but I would recommended creating a GC in
each of your child domains. A GC contains a full replica of the host
domain and a partial replica of every other domain in the forest which
will reduce the amount of queries over the network every time you need
to find an object in another domain e.g. user info/authentication for
logons.
