Rdesktop will *only* work under Mac OS X (on the Mac), but it requires that
you install Xdarwin (an X-Windows Server/Client; http://www.xdarwin.org/)
first. I highly recommend using Fink (http://fink.sourceforge.net/) to do
the installation of any Unix distributions, Rdesktop included. Fink will
allow you to simply select the packages and then it will download and
compile for you. Getting rdesktop is a little tricky though, because it is
listed as "unstable". Make sure read the Fink FAQ first. Additionally, you
must have the developer tools installed to do the compile. There is not a
binary download available for Fink that I know of.

It is important to note that you have to go through the X-Windows
environment to do this, and it probably isn't quite ready for the casual
user yet. However, once you get past the X-Windows interface, Rdesktop
works beautifully. I use it in combination with the Unix Cisco VPN client
with no problems.

Do you know if this will run on OS X? I'm trying to find some docs on that.
