Here is what I do:

The line below you want to put into a batch file (The -s tells it which
script to use):

ftp -s:somescript.scr

Contents of somescript.scr

open somewhere.com
username
password
cd /home/wwww
hash
get file
bye

You want to put both the batch file and script in the directory where
you would like the files you are FTPing to go.
