Are you refering to using Network Load Balancing (NLB) for the the clustering?

If so, then I have some very recent experience in setting that up. It is not
documented well, but here is a Qdoc that refers to setting up NLB for Application
Center 2000.

That should help some, I will dig through the other QDocs I printed out and see what
else I can find.

Here is one that I found really quick:

The jist of it is, get static IP's for your NICs, and a Static IP for the Virtual
Address. Add the virtual hostname to DNS, and add the Virtual IP as an additional IP
in the Advanced Settings section of TCP/IP properties. Turn on Network Load Balancing.

The confusing part is what addresses are what.

Cluster Parameters Tab:
primary IP = Virtual IP address
Full Internet Address = FQDN of virtual host

Host Parameters tab:
Priority = (you can use up to 32 servers for NLB the lower the number in this box, the
higher priority when deciding who gets the packets and control of the cluster.)

Dedicated IP address = The static address of the physical box

Port Rules tab:
This area will let you define what ports are forwarded to the servers from the Virtual
interface.

HTH!

Has anybody been successful at setting up an active/passive cluster server
for IIS 5.0 and Win2K? I am looking for some helpful documentation on this.
I have been hearing that it is a slight pain in the butt to accomplish this.
Thoughts?

Thanks

Ed
