Hi,
We might consider this as a last option - but, this will not
provide us the complete solution. It is really tough to mirror
large disks/volumes which vary from 36GB to 70GB in capacity and
all are of type RAID-1 and RAID-5. Since we already using
mirroring on some servers, we can remove one of the disks from
mirror-set and bring up the OS and perform the required changes.
But, in the case of RAID-5 volumes, this may not be possible? We
will have to mirror individual partitions which may not be very
appropriate? Also, each partition size would be around 30GB-40GB.
We don't have individual SCSI disks of this size ( 40GB) to mirror
a RAID-5 based partition onto these disks.
