We had the same exact problem which was not solved until we got the Windows
2000 drivers from our rep as they were not on the website. The problem
appeared to be with using the NT4 drivers on Windows 2000 as Windows 2000
does not permit, by default, "kernel mode" drivers.

You can also disable this in the local system policies but even doing that
did not solve our problem. We had to use the new drivers for it to work
flawlessly.
