Well, I suppose it depends on how you define "much longer". Sure, BIND will take longer to configure than MS-DNS, if the person in question is familiar with MS-DNS and not familiar with BIND. But such is the case with any new product; should people forever restrict ourselves to only the software we are familiar with? If so, what should people do when Microsoft releases the next big change to MS-DNS? As far as specific differences go: The zone file format is the same for both servers. The BIND master configuration would be totally new, but on the other hand, it is well-documented.
