I have two domain controllers in my network and I'm getting error message
on both DC's whenever I select the Domain Controller Security Policy in
the Adminstrative Tools. The following is the error I receive:

"Failed to open the Group Policy object. You may not have
appropriate rights. Details: The specified domain either does not exist
or could not be contacted."

Once I click CLOSE the DC Security Policy window appears with a red X on
Group Policy listings.

I know that I have proper rights becuase I'm using the Admin account which
is a part of the Enterprise Admins Group.

I'm also trying to demote the first domain controller installed on the
network but once I run the DCPROMO it gives me the error:

"Operation failed because: Failed finding a suitable domain
controller for the domain MyDomain.com. The specified domain either does
not exist or could not be contacted."

This really throws me for a loop because my AD-Integrated DDNS is working
fine; I'm able to my two domain controllers in Active Directory Sites and
Services and all of my workstations are able to logon to the domain.

Could anyone give some ideas on what else I should be looking for or
better yet...have a solution for this mystery.

Thanks,

J
