NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART! IF YOU AREN'T CAREFUL, THIS PROCESS COULD DESTROY THE DRIVE!
If this drive is out of warranty, one POSSIBLE way to get it going again is to CAREFULLY remove the top cover of the drive, plug the drive in as a secondary drive, power up the system and GENTLY start the spindle. If the drive starts, immediately copy all data off the drive and throw it away. If the drive doesn't start, your only recourse is probably to send the drive to a data recovery company.
