I recently upgraded my NT Server to Windows 2000, which was okay.
On the same network I have a Windows 2000 member server which I promoted to
AD. th epromotion went well also, but on accessing the active directory for
users and computers I got "Naming information cannot be located because: The
server is not in operational."

I discovered that this server is also running DNS (Primary), I forgot to
first demote the server to member server, I removed the DNS cofigured on the
server. On trying to remove the AD, I got the error message "Active
directory failed because:.....bla...bla.....bla......."

The first server is working fine.
I am just looking for a way to remove AD from the other server without using
dcpromo and all my information will still be intact.

Thanks.
Emmanuel
