Our DNS runs on Unix (Bind 8.2) and name resolution has always worked well. The current GC server has a bad disk, and I am going to have to shut it down for some time to ghost the data to a new disk, replace the disk, ghost it back etc. so the GC service will not be available for some time. I am pre-testing the configuration before I actually shut it down, to make sure everything will still keep working. I'm wondering if I create a second GC server (in the same site) and let them both run at the same time for a while. If I do, is there any way I can tell which GC server is being accessed during login ? Has anybody seen this problem before ? Is it a DNS error ? (Of course, the UNIX guys wont let me near their DNS zone files !!)
