Brian, If you can avoid it, don't upgrade - full clean install. I understand that may not be possible - so maybe use some of these tips:
1. Make sure you have TWO (2) good full backups of your PDC before you start (trust me). 2. Be ready for AD and what that will mean 3. Have you thought about DNS? 4. Have you thought about your domain/forest structure? 5. Been to church recently? Pray... a lot... 6. Did I mention having TWO (2) good backups? 7. Be prepared for any client "issues" subsequent to the upgrade. 8. There is no eighth thing. Ensure your favourite food and beverage of choice are on hand, and ensure there's plenty of them. Please let us know how you go... themolk. > -----Original Message----- > From: Brian Dugas [mailto:brian@;summit-technical.com] > Sent: Thursday, 7 November 2002 6:18 am > To: NT 2000 Discussions > Subject: Upgrading a NT4 PDC to Win2000 Server > > > I am going to be upgrading a NT4 PDC to a Win2000 server. > > Are there any "gotcha's" I should be looking for? > > Thanks - Brian > > > > > ------ > You are subscribed as [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Archives: http://www.swynk.com/sitesearch/search.asp > To unsubscribe send a blank email to %%email.unsub%% > ------ You are subscribed as [email protected] Archives: http://www.swynk.com/sitesearch/search.asp To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
