We do that using the netdom.exe tool. Run 'netdom.exe /?' at the cmd prompt
to see the usage. It may be a problem that the computer accounts already
exist.

Subject: w2k client automatically join nt 4.0 domain: how to?

Hi guys,

i want to find a way to join w2k clients in a nt 4.0 domain.
I think its possible with the NETDOM tool embedded in a script - has
anyone done this before and have an idea how to create such a script?
The computer accounts exist already.

The following steps must be performed:
1. domain user logs in the first time on that pc (to create his new
profile).
2. user logs out.
3. administrator logs in.
4. during administrators login, copy the profile from the local account
into the new domain user account.
5. Administrator logs out.
6. workstation restarts and user can again log in, now with his desktop
settings etc.

Any ideas would be appreciated!

Birte
