Hi,

Thanks alot for quick response, from all of you.
I need to be able to extract that info and place it in a database.
Also, can't afford third party software.

I was recommended to use scriptomatic utility, but it runs W2K and above. I need for PC's of W98 and above, though not too sure about W95.

Others recommended msinfo32.exe
David, can you share the code.
Also where to go to get information about programming against msinfo32.exe?

Also several people suggested WMI. And, Chris said that he already wrote the script to keep track of the inventory to see who needs upgrades. This is simmilar to to I am looking for. Can you share your code.
Also, what resources I can go to get familliar with WMI.
