Need to check USer permission on the server files\folder..

Hi Everyone,

I have just got an assigment from my boss to check the user permission of the folder/files on a particular server.
As there are more than thousand of folders, would be appreciate if anyone can tell me how to go about doing this..
Any free tools or any other ways to do it?
