H node is probably you best bet.

Less broadcast traffic.

Less traffic is the key to a good network.

Subject: Appropriate Win2K DHCP settings????

I am alittle confused, I have 2 DHCP servers, Both have been configured to
use the 0x1 (BNode) setting which I do understand is the older method by way
of Brodcast messages. Does both of these DHCP servers need to be exactly the
same or can I use any combination, my thinking was to make our RRAS server
to be the BNode, and to make the main Server hosting DNS, Wins & DHCP the
HNode.
I guess I am confused as to whether there are specific setting for networks
that are WIN2K with AD, to those like mine still running a NT4.0 PDC (which
doesn't do any of the DHCP / DNS / WINS resolutions.
Anyone who can provide me with alittle more insight would be greatly
appreciated.

This is what I have:

BNode: BNode is name resolution using broadcast messages; it is the oldest
method of name resolution used on Microsoft(r) networks.
PNode: Hosts configured for PNode use WINS for name resolution. PNode types
register themselves with the WINS Server, which then functions as a NetBIOS
server.
MNode: MNode computers will first use BNode name resolution, which succeeds
only if the desired host is on the local network. If this fails, MNode will
then attempt a PNode to resolve the name.
HNode: HNode is a combination of both BNode and PNode. In this respect it is
much like MNode. MNode first resolves addresses using WINS; HNode will use
the local name server and then revert to broadcast (BNode). This is the
current configuration for NT implementations
