Some questions / ideas... 1. What other processes are running on this machine? Tried without any other programs running yet?
2. How about temp. internet files? Have you cleared in the last wk, month, etc? 100mb temp files + badly fragmented hard disk can degrade performance. 3. Is this just one PC or more than one? 4. What does the task manager say when you launch IE (cpu usage / memory). Right-click over the task bar and select task manager and watch it as you open IE. I'm running IE6 sp1 w/ XP Pro with 0 problems or performance issues myself.
