Sure you can upgrade the PDC, you just need to stay in Mixed mode. Dave Lum - [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sr. Network Specialist - Textron Financial 503-675-5510

I have four Win2K servers. I have two NT4s: a PDC and a BDC. The way I understand it, I cannot upgrade the PDC to Win2K without upgrading the BDC as well. The BDC has a program on it which (I am told) will not run under 2000. It is an accounting package, older, and the accounting deapartment does not want to talk about changing it. For many reasons I need to finish my upgrade, cannot degrade the BDC any further. I need the PDC box to be Win2K so I can move all the printers so I can make the printer server my new file server. (I know, it's getting more complicated. But I don't like the BDC and hate to promote it alone on the network.) I guess I could add another NT4 server. Is my only other way out to re-install the accounting package to another standalone NT4 box? (I hate to think about screwing this up, it runs over an old proprietary SQL 6.1.) Any other options anyone can think of? ------ You are subscribed as [EMAIL PROTECTED] Archives: http://www.swynk.com/sitesearch/search.asp To unsubscribe send a blank email to %%email.unsub%% ------ You are subscribed as [email protected] Archives: http://www.swynk.com/sitesearch/search.asp To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
