In the registry there is a service IPSEC and IPSECEXT both have an entry
called Start but I'm not sure if it would be a 1, 2 or 3 which disables it.
If I was to use net stop that would just be temporary and I need to disable
it.

I think it is a network service in your network properties dialog box
but don't quote me on that.
You can use the "net stop/start" VIA command line
eg.. c:\>net stop <servicename>
I am not sure the name of the IPSec service

You can also check the registry under
HKLM\system\currentcontrolset\services\%servicename%

And this should work on any NT based OS

Subject: IPSEC

I need Contivity VPN to connect to my company's intranet and exchange
server
for email. I had no problems loading it on my Win2K laptop and was going
to
load it on my desktop when I got an error message on startup of the
program
that said first that there was an overlapped I/O operation and that I
had to
disable MS IPSEC and restart. When I went to services it is not listed
and I
do not see it running in Computer Management or anywhere else that I can
think of to check. But the error message continues. Is there some where
else
besides Admin tools/Services that I can look?? Is there a way to disable
a
service by a command line or in the registry?
