We only give our end-users "Power User" rights on their W2Kpro laptops.
This stops them from Installing software etc...
BUT This also prevents them from installing Device Drivers etc...

My problem lies with USB devices (Camera's and Printers)....
It appears as though each individual device has its own ID (GUID maybe)
so Say I have 2 Printers - As Admin I install the Drivers for Printer A -plug in the
USB lead and configure.
As The User , I can now plug/unplug PrinterA with no problems.
But when I Plug In PrinterB - W2K sees this as a New Device - and as such requests
install of drivers etc...,Thus needing AdmIn rights..

Is there a Group Policy setting anywhere that will Allow a "Power User" to plug in new
unseen USB devices? whilst maintaining the "Can't Install Software" rights....
ie; If the Drivers are on the Machine the User can Plug the Device In and Use it....

Thanks for any help....
Steve
