Hi All I am having a bit of trouble getting an XP computer onto an NT network.
I have install 3 XP computers onto this network but this is the first one that is giving problems. The error is as per below. The NT server has DNS and wins server running. The client has host file, lmhost file and netbios over tcp is enabled but I still get this error. I have removed all records for DNS from the workstation and still get the error. Any help would be greatly appreciated The error was: "This operation returned because the timeout period expired." (error code 0x000005B4 ERROR_TIMEOUT) The query was for the SRV record for _ldap._tcp.dc._msdcs.NATENG The DNS servers used by this computer for name resolution are not responding.
