I personally prefer to use host files for resolution because I find DNS or
WINS through VPN is just not consistent. Their computers may not be
registering with WINS or DNS, probably why you can't see them.

Ok I have a VPN hooked up and users can connect to the network. They can
use applications which connect to SQL Server just fine. But what I can't
seem to get to work is they can not see any of the servers or computers on
the domain when they go to the microsoft windows network. Also I can not
see there computers on the network.

TIA,
Brett
