Default route command. 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 gateway address

However when I do a route print It lists the default gateway as the card that I DON'T want to be the default gateway. Is there any way to specify what NIC's gateway I want to be as the default gateway?. The NIC that is the default gateway is just a NIC used to make a VPN connection to somewhere else.
