We have about a dozen Mac users here in the office who are
experiencing a number of problems when tunneling in to our
west coast VPN server. The west coast tunnel server is a win2k box.
When they tunnel into the east coast server(NT4, sp6) their problems
seem to go away.
Note that the PC users are not experiencing problems on either coast.
Our Mac sysadmin now tells me that "My hypothesis is that the east coast(NT4)
server doesn't have Path MTU discovery turned on, and the west does (it's
enabled
by default on W2K)."
I have no idea how he came up with this theory, but I wanted to get your
thoughts
on the matter. And while your at it, can you think of any other differences
between an NT4 VPN Server and a Win2k VPN server ?
