So the "host" computer has a NIC for LAN access and the ADSL is connected to
this PC via USB? Does the USB/ADSL connection show up as a NIC in device
mangler?

The ADSL connection is USB, so I can't do that unfortunately. NAT will also
be required, but the additional complication is that the ADSL itself is also
NAT and runs on 192.168
