We did the upgrade and have been running on BE 9 for almost a month now I think it is great The user interface is 10 times better there is OS X support The Exchange 2000 jobs run faster (can't speak on 5.5) You can perform differential exchange IS backups It now has template for creating jobs, which is great You can set a backup order and individual credentials, if you have a job that backs up 8 servers you can specify the order in which the job backs the servers up and you can specify the credentials on a per server basis
We have been happy with the upgrade -------------------------------- Rob Weatherly -------------------------------- -----Original Message----- From: Mustafa Ibrahim [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, March 12, 2003 10:37 AM To: NT 2000 Discussions Subject: RE: Backup Exec 9 We are currently considering an upgrade. I would love to hear some feedback on this from those good folks out there. From what I hear it fixes a lot of bugs and glitches. I am particularly interested in the Exchange 5.5 single mailbox backup issues that dogged the previous versions. We currently get mailbox corruption being reported on our 8.0 backup exec version, which causes the job status being flagged as failed. Though the backup works fine and everything gets backed up, it is a pain in the backside when you see the job fail, because this can mask other more serious backup errors. I am sincerely hoping this and other exchange issues have been fixed in version 9. I know version 8.6 addressed it but not fully. Can anyone give me feedback on this. Any comments appreciated. Many thanks.
