If you open relaying, then the entire SMTP world will begin using your mail
server as an open relay server. It may not be something you want to do.

Subject: Import help needed with SMTP routing on NT4

Our ISP modified the MX of a domain name to reroute to our server by
mistake.

They have modified the record, but it will take some time to propagate.

In the meantime, I would like to reroute emails sent to a certain domain
name to the proper address of that server.

The server is an NT4 with IIS 4 and the SMTP service.

I have a local SMTP used by the Web sites in order to allow sending
emails from our Web sites.

If I add a domain name in the SMTP service and set it to reroute to the
proper IP address, will it do the trick?

I entered the IP address in the "Route Domain" box and checked "Allow
incoming mail to be relayed to this domain".

Is this all I need to do?

Right now I cannot check if it works properly, as my own DNS and that of
checkdns.net has been corrected, but some AOL users, for instance, still
cannot email us.
