We have minor issues like this but never high enough in the radar to look
for a fix - simple folder replication of course doesn't work, so I'd like to
hear of people's solutions as well.

Hello-

Anyone have any success stories on using these over a WAN .. 2 windows
2000 sites in the same AD? Trying to put together a solution for
mutil-site file sharing and thought these 2 technologies may help.

Goals:

* Allow clients at both sites to have "quik" access to flat file
data, such as word, PPT, xcel, project, access DB, etc.

* Keep files locked so that updates can only be written by one
client at a time, from either site.

* Ideally have a local copy of data at each site available for
access to local clients (so they don't pull the file across the wan on
access) and background synchronization to manage the updates between
sites when updates occur.

* One namespace across sites, so that resource location is
invisible to the clients

Appreciate any advise, successes or failures in solving similar business
needs. I'm wondering if this will give us what we want.

Thx much-
