Ronnie,

I think we're going to need a little more information on your setup...
Hardware, software, LAN configuration, LAN hardware, etc... What steps have
you tried to resolve the problem?

Have you tried setting the W2K clients with static IP addresses? Can they
talk on the LAN with static addresses?

Have you tried moving the W2K clients to a known good port (one where the
machine can get an IP address)? Maybe it's a bad or misconfigured switch or
router?

I could go on suggesting steps to take all day, but you may have already
tried the first 50 things I'd suggest. More info would go a long way
towards helping to understand the problem.

If you have time to do it twice,
you had time to do it right in
the first place.

Subject: W2K Pro DHCP incompatibility issues with WNT Server 4.0

I have a network consisting of Windows NT 4.0 servers, Windows NT 4.0 W/S
clients and W2K Pro clients. The problem I'm having is the W2K Pro
clients cannot obtain a lease from the WNT Server DHCP server, although
the WNT 4.0 W/S clients have no problems obtaining or renewing a lease.
I've went so far as to install a W2K Server DHCP server on the LAN, but I
have the same problem with the W2K Pro clients. I haven't had any luck in
researching this on TechNet. Any help would be greatly appreciated. R.
