At first that what I thought, but rebooting wasn't the case, I already did that this
morning.

Since it's slow from your PC, the problem would have been that your PC
is authenticated with your first DC prior to the role change, and the PC
still querries the info from your first DC where the particular role has
been moved off.

If you reboot your workstation after the role change, you shouldn't
experience the same problem again.

Did you see the slowness from your workstation or from one of the DC's?

Did you give enough time, or manually sync the DC's to get the GC
replicate?

I have 2 W2K/DC DC1 and DC2, original DC1 holds all 5 FSMO and GC enable
on both of them. I took MS recommendation to split the roles out. So, I
have DC1 hold Domain Naming Master, Schema and GC, DC2 holds IM, PDC,
RID and GC. When I did that I was no longer see all my servers in
Server Manager and it's really slow to display, so I switched that back
and everything is fine. Can someone please tell me why?

Thanks!
