I'm trying to make it as transparent a process as possible. -----Original Message----- From: Martin Blackstone [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Sunday, April 06, 2003 9:17 PM To: NT 2000 Discussions Subject: RE: Massive Directory Copy
What about restoring the backup of the old dir to the new location? -----Original Message----- From: Bingel, Chris [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Sunday, April 06, 2003 5:07 PM To: NT 2000 Discussions I've got a directory that I need to copy from one drive to another. Problem is, the developers and project folks who have populated these directories have been very liberal with their file names, and I find myself unable to copy some files with paths that exceed 270 characters. I've tried windows copy, dos copy, I've tried robocopy, heck, even selecting the file sometimes causes Explorer to crash. My next step was going to be trying to FTP the files, but this is a massive amount of data, and any attempt is going to take hours, so rather than shooting in the dark and wasting my time, I figure I'll ask the experts. Have any of you run into this problem and/or know of a utility that might handle these types of copies with more success? ------ You are subscribed as [EMAIL PROTECTED] Archives: http://www.swynk.com/sitesearch/search.asp To unsubscribe send a blank email to %%email.unsub%% ------ You are subscribed as [EMAIL PROTECTED] Archives: http://www.swynk.com/sitesearch/search.asp To unsubscribe send a blank email to %%email.unsub%% ------ You are subscribed as [EMAIL PROTECTED] Archives: http://www.swynk.com/sitesearch/search.asp To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
