Well, there is apparently... But it does have to do with installing Office from GPO's. I've never done this... We image all our machines and include Office in the image. I suppose one could go back and create the whole new administrative imge for Office (not the same as imaging as I was mentioning before) but why is it that security updates and patches are not released in MSI format to just allow easy GPO push to the clients? I've had to set up our PC's for the moment to download their regular security updates via Microsoft Update. I'm going to move to SUS sometime soon, but we're just getting our feet wet with AD and there's still lots to be done there. Still, SUS does not address Office updates as far as I know. This is not exactly smart, but perhaps it has to do with the possibility of needing the install disks/network share during patch installation? Seems to me that MS really needs to address this problem better since the security holes in Office can be just as bad as the holes in the OS...

If you have installed Office 2000/XP trough Active Directory GPO's it must be a solution on how to install the fixes. I can't go around on several hundred computers and do this job..... If this is not possible, why is it (unless I'm really missing something) that Microsoft does not release hotfixes and patches in both EXE and MSI format? I would think that making it easy on admins to patch their machines would be an imperative for them...
