Agreed, but this is a system that is being designed as a web portal, with
clustered SQL & AD Authentication.  The AD would have to sit on one of the
nodes (or both from what I have read so far). Adding hardware may be an
option but why if it all works with exisiting spec?

Why bother?

I mean seriously - DC's are designed for dispersed redundancy, and it's a
lot cheaper to buy two separate boxes than to buy a cluster.

And, I've also not seen a significant enough uptime increase with clusters
to justify their price delta, especially not in a system that's designed to
not need it.
