Thanks, I'll try to add a server with W2k3 on it to the request. Considering that
last December we dropped a half-million into new servers, SAN and gigabyte backbone,
moving everything to w2k3 is far down the road.

I'd say run it on w2k3 if you have the chance. I'm running 2.0 on w2k3
and it's running OK. I honestly don't see a reason for spending the
money for it to run on w2k. I've also tested the beta/RC and the enhaced
features integrate so well with AD under w2k3; haven't tested it on w2k.

I'd say pick your poison and see how long before you'll be thinking of
upgrading your servers to w2k3.

My .01 cents

It's getting about that time of year when I need to put in capital
requests for budgetting.

I used to use SMS 1.1 but haven't for some time (could never get them to
give me $ to upgrade).

How is it now? I remember with the version I used it could be pretty
"clunky."

I'm looking for inventory mgmt, s/ware distribution, patch mgmt and
sniffer which SMS does.

How do you all feel about it? Will the new version be better?
